Meiying Huang was born and raised in Beijing and is a graduate of Capital Normal University. After working in youth education at the Beijing Exhibition Museum, she went to Japan to study, where she majored in Educational Sociology and the Philosophy of Higher Education at the Graduate School of Education at the University of Tokyo, receiving a Ph.D. in Education.

After that she participated in The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science’s Postdoctoral Fellowship Program for Foreign Researchers, taught at Saitama University and Tohoku University, and was a researcher at the Center for University Studies at the University of Tsukuba. She is the author of numerous articles and books in the educational field. She has also been involved in various international research projects, international conferences, and private sector cooperation programs. She is also active as a translator and interpreter, and in planning and conducting corporate training programs. She brings this varied experience to bear in her seminars to help explain the cultural differences between China and Japan.
