Peter Moynahan is a global business professional with over thirty years of experience at AT&T, Sprint, Hitachi Telecom, IDC (Softbank), Inter-Tel, and Ford Motor Company. Pete has deep knowledge of information technology including cloud computing, data center, managed security, unified communications, mobility and wide area networking. He also has significant experience with global manufacturing and automotive technology.
An exceptional communicator, he has a Masters in International Management from the Thunderbird Global School of Management (Arizona State University), a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from Kennesaw State University, and a design degree from Parson’s School of Design in New York City.
Pete lived in Japan for five years and traveled extensively in Asia-Pac and Europe. He completed two foreign assignments in Japan, one for Ford doing joint vehicle development with Mazda (one year) and another with Inter-Tel opening a Tokyo office (six months). Pete is expert at promoting teamwork and maximizing profits between Japanese and U. S. business partners.
Pete first traveled to Japan after university and lived in various locations, including a one-year residence in Tokyo, three years in the Kansai area (Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe) and one year in Hiroshima.
His one-year assignment in Hiroshima was working for Ford Plastic Products Division with Mazda to develop the first Japanese designed U.S. manufactured Ford vehicle, the sporty Ford Probe. Pete followed the program back to the United States and switched careers to telecommunications and computer systems.
A long career in telecommunications included positions such as Sprint Asia-Pacific Business Development Manager, Group Manager of Sprint Video, and other global assignments. Pete worked at AT&T for twenty years and worked with AT&T Japan on global opportunities, increasing Japan-U.S. teamwork and communications for large clients such as Toyota Motor Corporation.
Pete Moynahan brings years of business experience along with Japanese bilingual skills and practical insights into working with the Japanese. Pete has been active in the Japan America Society of Georgia for thirty years.
