Judy Thompson consults with Japan Intercultural Consulting clients on issues of compensation and human resource management, applying her long experience with the Silicon Valley environment.
Judy has spent more than two decades working with organizations to create compensation and other HR strategies, tools and practices that promote company success. Since launching her consulting practice in 1993, she has worked with clients ranging from early stage start-ups to large multinationals across many business sectors on a wide variety of compensation and other HR management issues. With more than 25 years in Human Resources Management and a specialty in compensation, Judy has a proven track record in finding effective solutions to a variety of business issues.
Before opening her consulting practice, Judy managed compensation, benefits, staffing, training and employee relations in Silicon Valley high-tech companies, including BT North America and Harris Corporation. Earlier, she worked at Far West Laboratory for Educational R&D, where she conducted statistical research and surveys. Judy also speaks to various industry groups on a variety of compensation and HR topics, and serves as expert witness in compensation-related court cases.
World at Work (formerly American Compensation Association) has designated Judy as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP). She holds an M.A. in Organization Studies from San Francisco State University, an M.L.A. in Liberal Arts from Southern Methodist University, and a B.A. in Education from North Texas University. She is a member of World at Work, Bay Area Council of Business Advisors, Northern California Human Resources Association and Women in Consulting.
