Tomoko Parry

Operations Manager

New Mexico, USA

Born in Japan and moved to the US after finishing college, it didn’t take long for Tomoko to realize a BA in English Literature won’t take her too far in the business world. However, she knew there is a niche market in bridging two very different languages and cultures – i.e., Japanese and English.

In order to get her foot in the door, she started working at Sumitomo Sitix (now SUMCO) in New Mexico as a temp receptionist. She was soon promoted to a position which took advantage of her bilingual/bicultural abilities. As a Quality Management Systems Coordinator, she sat in on high level meetings and made frequent business trips to Japan. This led to starting her own business, Tomoko Parry Consulting LLC, which provides language services to Japanese companies doing business in the U.S.

Tomoko joined Japan Intercultural Consulting in 2024 as Operations Manager. Prior to joining JIC, Tomoko worked with Rochelle Kopp, the founder of JIC, as an editor of her Japanese language books “Creating Motivated Employees in Japan,” “Silicon Valley Buzzwords,” and most recently “Servant Leadership for Digital Transformation.” Tomoko enjoys and thrives working in a multicultural environment.
