Originally from the U.K., Jennifer Shinkai holds an M.A. (Oxon) in English Language and Literature from St. Hugh’s College at the University of Oxford.
With nearly 20 years’ experience in Japan, she has held a variety of management roles across Learning and Development, Marketing, Sales Operations and Sales. Jennifer is a driver of change supporting her previous organization’s growth from a 25-person privately owned Tokyo office to an 800-person listed company connecting great people to great companies across seven countries in the Asia-Pacific.Her hands-on experience in change management and communications for a cross-cultural team gives her unique insight in how to operate effectively as a professional in Japan.
Jennifer is known for her energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to continuous improvement for processes and people. She is passionate about developing women’s participation in the workforce, having founded and run two monthly LeanIn Circles for English Speakers in Japan in Management and Entrepreneurial Roles from 2014 to 2019.
Jennifer is also a frequent public speaker and panel moderator on diversity and inclusion, work style reform, empowering women and coaching related topics.
