Communicating Effectively with Americans – April 14, 2026, 2pm-4:30pm EDT

A focused, high-impact 2-hour seminar for Japanese professionals (Conducted in Japanese)

Among the many cultural differences between Japan and the United States, communication style is one of the most striking contrasts.

  • Direct vs. Indirect communication
  • Confrontation OK vs. Avoids Confrontation
  • Verbal vs. Non‑verbal Communication (Dependent on words vs. context)

For Japanese professionals working in the United States, understanding these differences and learning how to adjust their own communication style is a foundational skill—one that directly impacts daily work and overall effectiveness.

This seminar is designed to equip Japanese professionals with the knowledge and skills needed for effective communication with Americans, while also addressing common questions and concerns about working with Americans.

Participants will begin with a short quiz to identify their own communication tendencies. They will then explore key cultural differences between Japan and the U.S. and clarify what approaches are most effective when interacting with people whose communication styles differ from their own. These concepts are brought to life through concrete examples and case studies.

The seminar is highly interactive, with ample opportunities for discussion. Participants not only learn from the instructor but also from one another, sharing experiences and comparing approaches with peers who face similar challenges. Another key feature of the seminar is the opportunity to articulate one’s learning in one’s own words and translate it into a concrete, immediately actionable plan.

If you work regularly with American stakeholders and want a practical, time-efficient way to deepen your understanding of American communication style, this seminar is designed for you.
