A truly global HQ, where Japan is just one of the regions?

This article was published 4 years ago in the Nikkei Weekly - so I would be interested in your views as to whether anything has changed since it was written.

From my perspective, I have seen Japanese clients adopt something similar to the "truly global HQ", putting some of their global business bases outside of Japan, or treating Japan as "a region", distinct from the headquarters.

And despite the general cautious mentality of younger generations in Japan, plenty of younger Japanese expatriates are coming to Europe, with a positive attitude to the opportunities here.
