Last Updated: 05 Jan 2026 New Year Greetings and 2026 Updates from Japan Intercultural Consulting
As we begin the new year, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to all of you who worked with and supported Japan Intercultural Consulting over the past year.
It was another busy and rewarding year for us, working with clients across the globe on a wide variety of projects. As we move into 2026, we are excited to continue supporting our clients with high-quality training, teambuilding, coaching, consulting, and digital learning solutions.
Last year’s work included complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives such as teambuilding programs for Japanese companies integrating their Japanese and U.S. organizations following restructuring, teambuilding for the multicultural team implementing a high-profile digital transformation initiative, customized training to support rollout of a new Code of Conduct, and leadership development programs for mixed groups of Japanese and non-Japanese emerging leaders. These projects reflect a broader trend: clients are coming to us not just for foundational knowledge, but for support with nuanced, high-stakes projects that require cultural fluency, leadership insight, and practical execution.
We have also seen a notable increase in clients licensing our e-learning programs for use within their own LMS platforms. These courses are being incorporated into onboarding programs for both local hires and Japanese expatriates, allowing organizations to deliver consistent, high-quality learning at scale while complementing live training and coaching.
To better support our clients where they operate, we continued to expand our geographic reach. In addition to our existing global presence, we welcomed new team members in Singapore and across the United States, including North Carolina, Georgia, Illinois, and Indiana. This expansion strengthens our ability to deliver bilingual, bicultural support across time zones and regions.
Looking ahead to 2026, we will be introducing several new offerings in response to client demand. We are launching a new partnership with Volition Partners to bring the Volition Index organizational assessment to our clients, delivered bilingually and biculturally. This proprietary approach blends data analytics, leadership insight, and strategic synthesis to illuminate how well organizations align, operate, and lead. In addition, several members of the JIC team have been certified in the new Intrivity interaction style assessment (the successor to ICEdge), and we will be rolling out training and coaching programs that incorporate this framework.
We are also developing our own proprietary assessment tools, the Global Assignment Readiness Assessment and the Global Interaction Readiness Assessment, designed to help organizations make better-informed staffing decisions and support individuals working across cultures. Finally, based on strong interest from clients, we are preparing a new Women’s Leadership course as well as new e-learning offerings, which we look forward to sharing with you soon.
In the coming year, I will also be launching a new newsletter to share insights on cross-cultural leadership, global teamwork, and emerging issues in international business. The newsletter will be published in English on Substack and in Japanese on The Letter, allowing me to reach and engage readers in both languages. Through these newsletters, I hope to offer timely perspectives, practical observations from our client work, and reflections on broader trends shaping global organizations today.
Once again, thank you to our clients, partners, and friends for your continued trust and collaboration. Wishing you a peaceful, healthy, and successful year ahead. We very much look forward to working with you again in 2026.
